About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Computer Systems Architect to join our Mac Systems Architecture team at Apple. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in influencing and driving new product designs in charging and power management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide system architecture guidance and expertise to ensure the development of innovative and efficient power management solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and drive workload power budgets at system and module levels.
  • Perform and guide peak power measurements on device hardware to validate power models and ensure accurate system performance.
  • Determine product system integration feasibility through collaboration with mechanical, physical, thermal, and electrical engineering teams.
  • Author system architecture specifications, block diagrams, and conduct reviews with product teams to ensure alignment with system product goals.
  • Collaborate with performance architects to define, model, and drive improvements in performance, power efficiency, and cost.
  • Analyze, guide, and support thermal management solutions and trade-offs to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Anticipate future SoC requirements and negotiate with internal SoC teams to align with system product goals.
  • Be innovative and curious, exploring and championing new product-level features and workflows.
Requirements
  • At least 10 years of relevant industrial experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant field.
  • Experience with Lithium-ion batteries and USB Adapters for charging and analyzing end-to-end system charging behaviors.
  • Strong technical breadth across several computer subsystem technologies.
  • Ability to create, review, and approve engineering requirement specification documents.
  • Understanding of schematics, PCB layout & designs, and experience in bring-up, system debug, and hands-on lab environments.
  • Ability to comprehend the roles of HW/FW/SW layers and how they interact in system design.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
