Pet Groomer

We are seeking a skilled Pet Groomer to join our team at Tractor Supply Company. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional grooming services to dogs, using your knowledge of canine characteristics and grooming styles and techniques.

• Deliver world-class customer satisfaction by providing personalized grooming services
• Answer phone calls and schedule appointments in a timely and efficient manner
• Assist in generating business by calling existing and new customers, scheduling appointments, and verifying vaccinations
• Book appointments and greet pets as they arrive, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment
• Report any accidents or injuries to the Store Manager promptly and follow safety procedures
• Follow established bathing and grooming procedures, including cleaning ears, clipping nails, and performing other necessary services
• Adhere to customer instructions for clipping patterns and use electric clippers, combs, and shears to achieve desired results
• Comb and shape dogs' coats to maintain a healthy and attractive appearance
• Talk to animals in a calm and soothing manner to reduce stress and anxiety
• Complete and maintain customer and company forms accurately and efficiently
• Properly and completely fill out required grooming forms
• Observe and adhere to all safety rules and procedures, maintaining a safe and productive work environment
• Sweep, vacuum, clean, and sanitize cages, tubs, and other areas as needed to maintain high standards
• Assist in store operations as needed, providing exceptional customer service and support

• Minimum of 1 year of experience grooming or styling pets, with a strong understanding of canine characteristics and grooming styles and techniques
• Ability to work with dogs and cats, providing a safe and comfortable environment for all animals
• Must provide own tools (clippers, blades, shears) or be willing to purchase required tools
• High school diploma or equivalent, with successful completion of Paragon Level 1 & 2 training provided by Petsense
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately, with strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to lift and carry pets weighing up to 50 pounds, with the physical stamina to move throughout the store and outdoor areas quickly and safely

Working environment is favorable, generally working inside with moderate noise. Exposure to wet conditions, particularly when bathing dogs. Exposure to cats and dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. Exposure to sharp grooming instruments, perfumed shampoos and soaps, pets, and pet waste.

Work shifts vary from one store to another, but generally are no less than 4 hours and may exceed 8 hours. Promote a safe and productive work environment for Team Members and customers and adhere to Company safety training and guidelines.

Indoor floors and outdoor lots generally are hard surfaces (concrete, asphalt, etc.) lighting and temperature are adequate.
