  • Design, install, and maintain plant utility, HVAC, and building management systems.
  • Technical Support:
  • Provide technical assistance for facilities, including diagnosing equipment problems, conducting preventative maintenance, supporting equipment servicing and repairs, and relocating equipment/controls as necessary.
  • Maintenance Planning:
  • Develop and execute job plans and work procedures for facilities, including Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) reliability programs, while managing service agreements.
  • Utilities Optimization:
  • Enhance utilities equipment availability and efficiency in alignment with production objectives, utilizing data analysis to create short-term and long-term strategies.
  • Facilities Strategy:
  • Establish and execute a facilities strategy with an emphasis on equipment criticality.
  • SOP Management:
  • Create and update internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for building systems and facilities-related equipment.
  • Asset Management:
  • Oversee a centralized register of all essential plant, site facilities, equipment, and machinery.
  • Vendor Oversight:
  • Manage contractors/vendors and service agreements for the upkeep of utilities systems, buildings, tooling, and processing equipment.
  • Maintenance Management:
  • Implement a maintenance management system for repairs, preventative maintenance, and calibration of infrastructure and equipment, ensuring schedules and records are maintained.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Encourage ongoing enhancements in processes and procedures, aligning with operational excellence principles and lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Sustainability Initiatives:
  • Advocate for sustainability through the implementation of energy improvement projects.
  • Compliance and Ethics:
  • Execute all job responsibilities ethically and in accordance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Cost Management:
  • Maintain a focus on budget oversight, operational efficiency, and spare parts management.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Certifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
  • Work Experience:
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in building operations, engineering, and systems maintenance, with at least three (3) years in a comparable role as a building systems engineer.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical processes or biotechnology is preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and facility schematics is desirable.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong project management capabilities.
  • Understanding of building processes, construction principles, and the operations of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in manufacturing environments.
