Adjunct Faculty

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Computer Information Technology courses at Lone Star College. The successful candidate will have a strong background in computer science and the ability to create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.
The ideal candidate will have a mastery of course content, demonstrated leadership skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills. They will also have a commitment to diversity, ability to appreciate alternative viewpoints, and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people.
The Adjunct Faculty member will be responsible for teaching Computer Information Technology courses at a variety of times and locations, creating engaging lessons, submitting required college reports and forms in a timely manner, and utilizing a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines.
The successful candidate will also have the ability to use effective strategies to engage students in their learning, demonstrate interest in interdisciplinary teaching, service learning, learning technologies, course development, and adult learning methodologies, and commit to academic excellence, exceptional service, and providing a dynamic climate for life-long learning.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Computer Information Technology courses at a variety of times and locations
- Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material
- Submit required college reports and forms in a timely manner
- Utilize a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines
- Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
- Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required

Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years non-teaching work experience in the field or industry certification(s)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, computer information technology, computer engineering, or computer-based information systems, instructional technology, or business/computer related field
Salary and Benefits:
$53.82 per contact hour.
