We are seeking a part-time, non-tenure track adjunct faculty member to teach undergraduate courses in health care management at the University of Minnesota Duluth's Labovitz School of Business and Economics.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for teaching one course in the fall or spring semester, depending on the department's needs and the applicant's qualifications. The course will be in the areas of health care law and ethics, or international comparisons of health systems. The candidate must be prepared to manage all aspects of teaching the course, including course development, delivery, grading, and communicating with students. The department will provide guidance on course content and syllabus development.
QualificationsApplicants must have a minimum of a master's degree in health administration, public health, or business, or an equivalent degree from a regionally accredited institution. If the applicant has a master's degree and is not possessing a JD or PhD/ABD in a health care management-related discipline, the applicant must have experience demonstrating active involvement in their profession since the time of the master's degree completion. The candidate must also meet one of the four 2020 AACSB faculty qualifications: Scholarly Academic (SA), Practice Academic (PA), Scholarly Practitioner (SP), or Instructional Practitioner (IP).
About the DepartmentThe Labovitz School of Business and Economics is a medium-sized school with approximately 1,800 undergraduate and graduate students. The school is AACSB-International accredited and offers undergraduate and graduate programs in business and economics. The school has about 50 full-time faculty members in four academic departments: Accounting and Finance, Economics and Health Care Management, Management Studies, and Marketing.
