Mental Health Associate Job Description

At Carle Foundation Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Associate to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary treatment team, you will play a vital role in ensuring patients receive comprehensive services and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in patient assessments and develop goal-directed treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
  • Provide complete services to patients, including therapeutic interventions and support.
  • Accurately document activities and interventions in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Work with patients who present dual problems, such as Co-Occurring Substance Use and Mental Health Disorders.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary clinical staffing and provide pertinent information to the team.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Addiction, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Certified Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselor (CADC) certification from the Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association.
  • Ability to work with patients who present a range of behavioral health needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Working Environment:

  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of a therapeutic milieu.
  • Set behavioral limits on patients and de-escalate conflicts using CPI techniques.

  • Provide supportive care to patients and families.
