Position Summary:

The Retail Cashier and Stock Associate is tasked with managing sales transactions, delivering outstanding customer service, and ensuring a tidy and well-organized checkout environment. This role is essential in fostering a positive shopping atmosphere by accurately processing purchases, addressing customer inquiries, and providing assistance as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Efficiently scan and process merchandise, handle payments, and generate receipts using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Welcome customers upon entry and express gratitude at the end of each transaction.
  • Ensure transaction accuracy and security throughout the process.
  • Respond to customer questions about products, pricing, promotions, and store policies, offering clear and helpful information.
  • Carefully bag or package items for customers.
  • Keep the checkout area clean and organized, including registers and surrounding spaces, and request necessary supplies.
  • Manage customer lines to reduce wait times and facilitate a smooth checkout experience.
  • Follow all safety and security guidelines, including cash handling procedures, to mitigate theft and fraud.
  • Maintain company standards for customer service, professionalism, and integrity in all customer interactions.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Store Manager.
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in cashiering and customer service is advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with customers and team members.
  • Basic math skills and familiarity with cash registers or POS systems for accurate transaction processing.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while multitasking and maintaining a friendly demeanor.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
  • Capability to stand for extended periods.
  • Regularly lift items weighing over 50 pounds.
  • Background check is mandatory.
