Custodian/Maintenance Worker Job Description

The Custodian/Maintenance Worker is a vital member of our team at The Arc Otsego, responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of our facilities. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, painting, and repairing facilities.
  • Operate various equipment, such as lawn mowers, snow blowers, and cleaning machines.
  • Assist with snow removal and lawn maintenance, including landscaping duties.
  • Empty garbage receptacles, restock supplies, and perform other tasks as needed.
  • Work safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid NYS driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing excellent customer service. The Custodian/Maintenance Worker will work in a variety of settings, including offices, houses, and other facilities.
