Westlake Services is seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our production team, ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards, and driving process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate production schedules and raw materials requirements to ensure timely and cost-effective production.
- Interface with cross-functional teams to ensure customer deadlines are met and product quality is maintained.
- Conduct regular inspections and measurements to verify product conformance to specifications.
- Direct workers in adjusting operations and equipment to ensure products meet customer standards.
- Develop and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems.
- Maintain accurate time and production records.
- Develop and implement operating methods and procedures to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
- Supervise operators while on shift, monitoring safety and environmental compliance.
- Maintain document control for specific areas on all documents used by operations.
- Issue permits as needed, including Hot Work, Confined Space, Work Permits, Line Break, etc.
- Provide written/verbal communication to operators when necessary.
- Initiate/monitor operator training as needed, including new and refresher training.
- Write maintenance work orders to repair equipment when needed.
- Ensure product integrity by taking action to correct abnormal situations that affect product quality.
- Lead interactive safety programs and encourage strong employee participation in Company PACE programs.
- Publish daily production reports.
- Enter production data into SAP.
- Four (4) year engineering degree (Chemical, Mechanical).
- 2+ years manufacturing experience and strong operational background.
- Authorization to work permanently in the US.
- Proficiency with Windows-based software (specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to research/resolve problems or issues in a timely manner.
- Ability to work independently to resolve issues or problems on a day-to-day basis.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The base pay range for this position is $90,000 to $145,000. This range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience, and skillset. Westlake Services is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package (also including a full range of medical and other benefits).
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentThe noise level in the work environment varies as there is both work required in the office and out in the plant and process areas. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators. Travel, including air travel or auto travel, may occasionally be required.
