About the Role

Barnhart Crane and Rigging Company is seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and input load data into logistics software, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Monitor quotes and pricing from contracted carriers, identifying opportunities to reduce costs.
  • Select the best carrier and mode of transportation to meet customer needs.
  • Process load tenders and ensure load acceptance by selected carriers.
  • Coordinate with carriers to ensure on-time pickup and delivery, estimating times of arrival and delivery as needed.
  • Track loads to ensure timely delivery and proactively communicate potential delays to team members and customers.
  • Communicate and escalate issues as they arise, providing solutions and support.
  • Develop relationships with new and current carriers, negotiating rates and improving service.
Requirements
  • Prior work experience in the trucking industry is required.
  • Prior truck driver and/or Owner/Operator experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of open trailer and over the road freight is essential.
  • Geographic understanding of the continental U.S. is necessary.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
  • Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, is necessary.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills are essential for success in this role.
