We are looking for enthusiastic candidates for the position of Barista who can deliver a warm, inviting, and genuine experience to all patrons by providing outstanding service and exceptional hospitality consistently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Arrive punctually in complete uniform.
- Adhere to *Dress for Success* protocols for opening and closing cashier duties.
- Conduct cash counts before and after service.
- Participate in pre-shift briefings.
- Answer phone calls in a friendly and professional manner, following established phone etiquette.
- Ensure cash drawer is prepared before opening and be ready for the first customer.
- Greet guests warmly and welcomingly.
- Prepare coffee beverages to order and set out condiments and supplies for breakfast service.
- Ensure trays, utensils, and napkins are arranged appropriately.
- Maintain assigned temperature logs for coolers and freezers.
- Accurately input menu items into the POS system.
- Complete sales transactions by collecting payments and providing correct change.
- Keep beverage stations and condiment areas stocked and tidy.
- Ensure proper signage is displayed for breakfast and lunch services.
- Clean cashier stations, beverage areas, and dining tables according to the cleaning schedule.
- Prepare for the next day's opening by following *Dress for Success* procedures.
- Stock and organize beverage coolers and snack items before the end of the shift.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the cashier, drink, and condiment stations at all times.
- Assist kitchen staff with cleaning and closing tasks as needed.
- Check out with the Manager on Duty before clocking out.
- Additional hours may be scheduled based on client and catering needs.
- Adhere to established sanitation, personal hygiene, and health standards.
- Follow proper food storage guidelines, including labeling and rotating items as necessary.
- Maintain proficiency in operating equipment such as the POS system, telephone, and coffee machines.
- Comply with Sterling Culinary Management's cash handling procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a high-volume barista role.
- At least 1 year of experience in customer service or the food service industry.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Availability to work early shifts, Monday through Friday, starting at 5:30 AM.
