Supportive Caregiver

Communicare is a community mental health center serving six counties in North Central Mississippi. We offer specialized treatment services for individuals with serious mental illness, children with emotional disturbances, and those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

This role involves providing direct care to individuals who require assistance with daily living tasks. As a Direct Care Worker, you will be responsible for supporting clients with their activities of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, and household management.

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. A valid driver's license and insurable driving record are also required, as transportation may be necessary for client appointments and activities.

• Provide direct care to clients in their homes or community settings
• Assist clients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Prepare meals and maintain a safe and clean living environment
• Transport clients to appointments and activities as needed

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Certified Personal Care Assistant (PCA) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
