TEKsystems is collaborating with a local enterprise in Hawaii that has been providing support to the Department of Defense and various commercial organizations on the island. This position involves responsibilities such as cabling, phone installations, fiber optics, badge scanner setups, and upgrading computer systems. This is a full-time role that requires on-site presence. Necessary training, a vehicle, and tools will be supplied for the job.

Qualifications:

  • No prior experience is required.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 50lbs, as the equipment and tools can be heavy.
  • Must pass a drug screening and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to operate a vehicle is essential.
  • A GED or high school diploma is required.
  • Must be available to work on-site from 7 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday, with potential for overtime, where hours exceeding 40 will be compensated at time and a half.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Engage in the installation of phones, badge scanners, and computer system upgrades.
  • Construct splice cases accurately, ensuring proper grounding, bonding, isolation, slack storage, and sealing.
  • Execute tasks in compliance with industry standards.
  • Interpret underground and aerial telecom facilities from records, maps, and field observations, providing recommendations for modifications in construction methodologies.
  • Maintain accurate records of inside and outside plant installations.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks.
  • Identify and rectify route issues, including maintenance and cleanup of hand holes, and placement of signage.
  • Connect wires and cables to terminals, attaching or detaching various hardware to wires, cables, buildings, or poles.
  • Respond to and assist in emergency situations and outages requiring heavy construction capabilities.
  • Ensure all work prioritizes the safety of customers and the public, adhering to all governmental regulations.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions is necessary.
  • Complete daily production reports and As-Built documentation accurately.
