Swim Instructor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Swim Instructor to join our team at the Johnston Community School District. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching American Red Cross swim lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels.

• Teach swimming techniques, strokes, and water safety rules to students with varying abilities.
• Assist more experienced swimmers to enhance their swimming abilities.
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching programs accordingly.
• Monitor students to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Implement ground rules for each swim session.
• Plan swimming lessons that take into account students' abilities and progressive development.
• Identify and correct incorrect swimming techniques.
• Keep work areas clean and prepared for class.
• Attend all assigned meetings and in-services.

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR-PR certification preferred.
• American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification preferred.

Work location will be assigned as needed. Work days/hours may vary depending upon program needs. Primary location is Johnston Community School District facilities and program-specific.
