Aircraft Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Tyonek Native Corporation. As an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on aircraft systems, including fuel systems, engines, sheet metal, and structural components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty
  • Repair and modify aircraft components, including flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components
  • Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to determine equipment malfunctions and restore equipment condition and operation
  • Solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation, such as blueprints or manufacturers' manuals

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience on the C-130H/J variant aircraft
  • May be required to be licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration
  • CPR qualified is a preference
  • C-130J specific fuel tank/cell familiarization training
  • Trained/qualified on the use of fuel systems specific support equipment
  • Respirator qualified is required
  • Trained/qualified on confined space and entry procedures, documentation requirements, and knowledgeable of the associated hazards
  • Trained/qualified on the use of atmospheric monitoring equipment and testing confined space atmospheres
  • Trained on the proper use, inspection, and wear of personal protective clothing and equipment
  • Trained on self-rescue procedures preferred
  • Trained on the use of communication equipment is preferred
  • Familiarity with recognizing symptoms of overexposure to chemicals, solvents, and fuels
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, working at heights with fall protection devices
  • Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances
  • May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools
  • Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth
  • May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, etc.
  • Expected to work in high heat or extreme cold temperatures for extended periods of time
  • May operate in austere CONUS and OCONUS locations
  • Ability to wear a full face or forced air respirator
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
