Summary:

The Director of Pharmacy is responsible for overseeing the medication-use system, focusing on inpatient and hospital-based clinics. This role ensures that pharmacy staff are optimally positioned and resourced to maintain and improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of medication management and patient outcomes.

The Director of Pharmacy will assess the ever-changing healthcare environment for emerging trends and identify opportunities to leverage the pharmacy team's expertise to improve the value of care across the healthcare continuum.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the financial performance of the medication-use system by evaluating revenue and expenditure patterns.
  • Oversee and assess the medication-use system to ensure compliance with regulatory laws and standards of practice.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of medication management and patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify opportunities to leverage the pharmacy team's expertise to improve the value of care.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership experience in an acute care hospital setting (pediatrics preferred) with increasing responsibility for the management and supervision of pharmacy personnel.
  • Texas Pharmacist License or eligible (must be obtained within 180 days of employment).
