Job Summary

The State of California is seeking a highly skilled Physician and Surgeon to join our team at the Porterville Developmental Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing medical services to clients with developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the general direction of the Medical Director to provide medical services to clients with developmental disabilities.
  • Perform assigned medical work in an assigned work location at Porterville Developmental Center.
  • May supervise and instruct medical personnel engaged in caring for forensic clients.
  • Responsible for performing an assigned phase of the medical services and for making professional decisions.
Requirements
  • Current Physician and Surgeon license.
  • Completion of an internship in an approved hospital.
  • Ability to work in a secure treatment area and provide services to clients with developmental disabilities.
  • Ability to travel to observe clients receiving treatment in another location or to testify in court proceedings.
