We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Snowboard Instructor to join our team at Cooper Hill Ski Area, Inc. As a Snowboard Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching group and private lessons to students of all ages and skill levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach group and private lessons to students of varying ability levels
  • Instruct students of any age, sex, nationality, and learning ability
  • Follow Cooper's teaching guidelines and industry standards
  • Continuously improve and expand personal riding and skiing skills, teaching skills, and professional knowledge
  • Represent Cooper as a guest services and public relations representative on and off the hill
  • Be visible, approachable, and available to guests
  • Supply and maintain personal ski and/or board equipment
  • Stay up-to-date with all information contained in manuals, amendments, addendums, and other resources
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be 16+ years old with reliable transportation
  • PSIA/AASI certification preferred
  • Full-time commitment: 5 days/week from opening day to closing day
  • Part-time commitment: minimum 28 work days/season, 5 days/month December-March
  • Great communication skills
  • Ability to teach skiing/snowboarding skills and techniques
  • Positive and professional attitude
  • Willingness to work weekends, vacation periods, and major holidays

Working Conditions

The Instructor position is based primarily outside and is exposed to temperature extremes, sun and wind exposure, inclement weather, and high altitudes.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain, climb/descend stairs, stand and/or sit for long periods, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, lift objects, and ski or snowboard at an intermediate level.

Seasonal Status

This is a winter seasonal position with an expected season of early December 2024 through early-mid April 2025. Employment in subsequent seasons is not guaranteed.
