Job Summary

As a Medical Assistant in our Cardiology department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our team of healthcare professionals. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting providers with patient examinations, procedures, and diagnostic studies, as well as performing general administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, and diagnostic studies
  • Perform general administrative duties, including reviewing charts, obtaining and recording patient vital signs, and using the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
  • Direct patients to examination rooms and assist providers with patient preparation
  • Operate and monitor functioning of equipment, including EKG machines and other medical devices
  • Administer medications as directed and perform venipuncture, collect urine specimens, and complete lab tests procedures
  • Recognize emergency situations and seek assistance as needed
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; graduation from a Medical Assistant program or eligibility for certification by a recognized medical assisting organization
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required within 12 months of hire
  • Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification required
  • 6 months of medical assistant experience preferred
