Cook - Skilled Nursing Job Description

Prestige Care - McMinnville Post Acute & Rehab is seeking a skilled cook to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year experience cooking in a restaurant or the dietary department of a hospital or similar environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook food in accordance with menus, diet specifications, and resident preferences.
  • Ensure food is cooked and held at the appropriate temperatures.
  • Record food temperatures throughout the cooking and holding process.
  • Partner with the supervisor to review menus and record necessary substitutions.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Ensure proper storage, rotation, preparation, and labeling of food.
  • Follow facility fire safety, infection control, and hazardous chemical practices.
  • Assist in planning and preparing food services for special meals, events, and parties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of one year experience cooking in a restaurant or the dietary department of a hospital or similar environment.
  • General kitchen/dietary experience may be considered in lieu of direct cooking experience.
  • Must have required State certification or food service license.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience.
