Job SummaryThe Respiratory Therapist in the Respiratory Care Services department is responsible for administering respiratory care within the scope of their practice under a physician's order. This includes oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, advanced airway management, arterial puncture and analysis, electrocardiograms, and mechanical ventilation for adult, geriatric, and neonatal patients.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of therapy with communication to the physician and healthcare team.
- Administer respiratory care services, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and mechanical ventilation.
- Perform arterial puncture and analysis, electrocardiograms, and other diagnostic tests as needed.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- 1 year of clinical experience in respiratory therapy, with a preference for experience in emergency/trauma.
- Associate's degree in respiratory therapy.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
- NC Respiratory Care Practitioner certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
