About the Role:

We are seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to support the implementation and management of environmental health and safety programs. The ideal candidate will foster a culture of safety through continuous improvement, compliance, and proactive risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the administration and daily oversight of environmental health and safety programs, ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety by engaging employees and encouraging safe work practices across the site.
  • Perform regular EHS audits and safety inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Assist in environmental and safety communication, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to management and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies to maintain compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental standards.
  • Investigate safety and environmental incidents promptly, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Advocate for the adoption of safer equipment, materials, and work practices within the facility.
  • Participate in the design and execution of employee health and wellness programs aimed at improving overall workplace safety.
  • Assist in managing the contractor safety program, ensuring all contractors are trained and compliant with site-specific safety requirements.
  • Serve as an active member of the site Safety Council, contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of safety initiatives.
  • Facilitate and lead emergency preparedness drills and training for employees, ensuring readiness in case of emergency situations.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in environmental health, occupational safety, or a related field, or at least two years of relevant experience in EHS management within an industrial environment.
