As part of our platform team, you'll work closely with fellow engineers and members of the hardware and manufacturing teams to understand design requirements and develop automated production testing systems.
Your primary responsibility will be to continuously improve automation infrastructure, enhancing user interfaces and optimizing them for maximum efficiency. You'll also develop tools that visualize failures in manufacturing, helping the team narrow down issues effectively.
- Develop robust automation tools to streamline manual processes and reduce errors.
- Create intuitive visualizations to help the team quickly identify and resolve manufacturing issues.
- Integrate multiple tools within Arista's ecosystem to create a seamless user experience.
- Design and implement configuration management tools that provide real-time information to tests on the fly.
- Upgrade older UIs written in Python to React, improving efficiency and scalability.
- Develop automated hardware testing infrastructure using Python/Go, Django/React, and MySQL.
- Interface with local and remote manufacturing teams to resolve problems, collect requirements, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Manage multiple software release branches and develop tools to automate code synchronization across these branches.
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in automation using Python, JavaScript, and Golang.
- Web application development experience with frameworks like Django, React, and Angular, as well as proficiency in MySQL using Python/Go/JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Past experience with Perforce/Git software configuration management tools is a plus.
- A working knowledge of setting up and administering Linux servers, network switches, and troubleshooting network issues.
- The ability to learn new programming languages and frameworks quickly.
- Self-directed with a passion for tools development and test automation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex concepts clearly and concisely.
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
