Materials Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Scientist to join our team at Eli Lilly. As a key member of our API manufacturing team, you will be responsible for providing technical oversight of raw materials and consumables used in the manufacture of small molecules.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide technical support and expertise for the qualification and implementation of new raw materials and consumables.
- Work effectively and efficiently in a cross-functional team with Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Operations Planning, and Procurement to ensure reliable supply of raw materials and consumables.
- Lead technical evaluations of second sources of key raw materials and consumables to firm up supply chain.
- Own extractable and leachables risk assessments as needed to support commercial manufacturing.
- Anticipate and resolve complex problems. Drive solutions that impact the site.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant science or engineering field.
- 1+ years of manufacturing lab experience, preferably in a cGMP environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Ability to independently master assigned processes and to coordinate activities with internal and external partners.
- Experience in organic synthesis.
- Experience in API manufacturing.
- An understanding of cGMP and regulatory requirements.
