Join the Milwaukee Repertory Theater team as a General Maintenance Technician, playing a vital role in the behind-the-scenes operations of our regional theater. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, this part-time position will assist in the day-to-day facility and maintenance operations of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform basic mechanical duties, including minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Assist with facility maintenance, including snow shoveling and grounds upkeep.
- Operate building automation systems and perform other duties as needed.
- Availability to work a schedule during typical work hours, some evenings and/or weekends.
- Basic mechanical and computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be a quick learner and apply newly learned skills quickly.
- Ability to sit and remain in a stationary position for up to 70% of the time.
- Moves equipment/material weight up to 50 pounds (unassisted) and works on ladders up to 20% of the time.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle (preferred).
- Ability to successfully pass a background check.
- Communicate effectively with a diverse group of colleagues.
- Demonstrate an aptitude and eagerness to learn new skills and processes when necessary.
- Solve problems and engage in creative thinking about challenges individually and in a group environment.
- Accept and incorporate feedback.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and diplomacy skills and ability to be self-directed and take initiative.
- Demonstrate an understanding of historical and institutional racism in the American theater and/or a willingness to commit to learning and to the mission, vision, and values of the theater in areas of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion efforts both in the workplace and in our community.
$14-$16 per hour
