Job Title: Instructional Assistant

Shelbyville Central Schools is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Instructional Assistant to join our team. As an Instructional Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises. You will work closely with instructional personnel to reinforce and follow up on learning activities, ensuring that students receive the support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist instructional personnel in developing and presenting learning materials and instructional exercises.
  • Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow up on learning activities.
  • Assist teachers in maintaining a positive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Perform clerical functions related to job responsibilities.
  • Assist in administering pre and post-testing of formative assessments.
  • Monitor student classroom academic testing results and correlate that information to planning for students.
  • Plan and execute tutoring for students as designed by teachers.
  • Help students master instructional equipment or instructional materials assigned by teachers.
  • Attend assigned professional development and implement new practices successfully.
  • Organize and take initiative in completing tasks.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and ability to be flexible.
  • Display good communication skills.
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance.
  • Enjoy working with children of all ages, grades, and abilities.
  • Comply with Corporation Bylaws, Policies, and Employee Handbook.
  • Model Corporation Mission Statement and Fundamental Objectives.
