Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the scheduling database, collaborating with various departments to confirm the completeness of scheduled appointments.
- Coordinate patient procedure scheduling, aligning with Radiologists' availability and pre-registering patients when feasible.
- Gather and input patient demographic information into the relevant systems, ensuring compliance with all regulatory documentation.
- Monitor insurance policies and authorization requirements, providing updates to the scheduling team as necessary.
- Maintain exemption lists for physician practices regarding insurance pre-authorizations through diligent monitoring and communication.
- Oversee the management of the Diagnostic Services Faxpress folder, ensuring all received orders are correctly processed and filed.
- Act as a mentor for new team members, contributing to their training and performance evaluations.
- Manage daily sedation and bed reservation schedules, ensuring adherence to reservation protocols.
- Analyze Medicare Part B studies for appropriateness in the pre-authorization queue, making additional calls to physician practices as needed.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma required; a college degree is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare environment, particularly in patient registration, scheduling, or insurance authorization, is preferred. Strong customer service and organizational skills are essential, along with familiarity with medical terminology.
Skills:
- Language Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting various documents, writing reports, and effectively communicating with groups.
- Mathematical Skills: Capable of performing basic mathematical operations.
- Reasoning Ability: Able to apply common sense to follow instructions and solve problems involving multiple variables.
