Job Summary

We are seeking skilled Technical Theatre Specialists to join our production team. As a Technical Theatre Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical theatre expertise in various areas, including costumes, lighting, sound, loading, rigging, prop, and carpentry. This is a project-based role that requires flexibility and adaptability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the construction of set pieces, including carpentry and welding tasks.
  • Collaborate with the Scenic Artist to paint and finish scenic elements and backdrops.
  • Support the Prop Supervisor in the construction, fabrication, and acquisition of props for performances and rehearsals.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of props, as well as document and maintain props from rented packages.
  • Participate in the supervision and operation of technical aspects of productions during performances.

Requirements

  • Carpentry skills, including welding experience.
  • Scenic painting and/or fine art skills.
  • Ability to read plots and paperwork.
  • Experience with rigging and fly systems.
  • Knowledge of lighting software programs (Vectorworks, Lightwright, EOS).
  • Ability to safely lift 50+lbs and work at heights.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Working Conditions

This is a project-based role that requires flexibility and adaptability. Hourly wages start at $15.00/hour.
