JOB TITLE: Surgical Technologist Specialist

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) team. This role is essential in providing support to the surgical team and ensuring a smooth surgical process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment for various procedures.
  • Set up the operating room, ensuring all necessary instruments and sterile supplies are ready.
  • Adhere to all state and federal regulations while providing patient care.
  • Conduct pre-operative preparations, including skin antisepsis.
  • Perform safety checks on equipment and supplies before procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of patients for surgery, including transportation and positioning.
  • Provide sterile instruments and supplies to the surgical team during operations.
  • Participate in the counting of surgical instruments and supplies to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with specimen preparation and handling.
  • Support post-operative patient transfer and care.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the surgical environment.
  • Assist in inventory management and maintenance of preference cards.
  • Engage in decontamination and sterilization processes as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
  • CST certification preferred, or compliance with state regulations.
  • 1-2 years of clinical experience in an operating room setting is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support certification is mandatory.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Ability to provide age-appropriate care to patients.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients and colleagues.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position requires working in a clean, well-lit, and ventilated surgical environment. Candidates must be prepared to stand for extended periods and remain focused during surgical procedures.
