Job Title: Assistant Preschool Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our team at Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania. As a key member of our early childhood education program, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our young learners.

Job Summary

The Assistant Preschool Teacher will work closely with the lead preschool teacher to implement educational programming, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children aged 3-5. This role requires a strong commitment to child development, creativity, and teamwork.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in implementing educational programming, including Creative Curriculum, Arts, STEM, and social skill development.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all program participants, creating a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Conduct initial screening assessments for new students and work with volunteers, tutors, and students to improve education.
  • Develop and implement Developmentally Appropriate Activities, promoting creativity and exploration.
  • Provide active supervision and positive youth-to-staff interactions, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings, staying up-to-date with DHS and BGCA requirements.
  • Collaborate with the team to create a positive and professional work environment.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in education or a related field, with 30 credit hours in early childhood education or a related field, and 3 years of experience working with children.
  • Strong relationships-building skills and an interest in various youth programs.
  • Advanced customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clearances, certifications, and training requirements, including CPR, Pediatric First Aid, and Mandated Reporter Certification.
