High School Diploma or GED.

Must clear an FBI background check if not a resident of PA for the last two consecutive years.

Must pass a Pre-employment Physical Exam and a two-step Tuberculin test.

Position Overview:
This role involves performing routine tasks that can be acquired through on-the-job training.

Follows directives received both verbally and in written form.

Collaborates closely with the Food Service Supervisor to uphold established standards.

Stores food and supplies in designated dining areas, which may include refrigerators or storage spaces.

Prepares portions of food in advance for meal tray assembly.

Prepares snacks for residents during evening hours and between meals.

Assembles necessary supplies and supplements for distribution.

Conducts basic food preparation tasks such as opening cans and preparing simple sandwiches.

Prepares the tray line for meal assembly by activating necessary equipment.

Organizes the tray line with required food items, trays, dishes, portioning utensils, and tray tags.

Assembles meals on trays according to menus and resident tray tags.


Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of pots, pans, dishes, flatware, serving utensils, refrigerators, food carts, work surfaces, serving areas, and other related food service areas and equipment.

Disposes of waste, garbage, and soiled linens in designated receptacles.

Transports tray trucks, food supplies, special functions, and other materials to and from the dietary facility.

Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:
Unloads food and supply deliveries, transporting and stocking items in kitchens, freezers, coolers, and storerooms.

Plates desserts, prepares salads, and refills salt, pepper, and sugar containers.

Serves hot food items.


Calls out dietary orders for tray assembly; sets up plates, places food items on trays, and transports trays to and from the serving area.


Cleans pots, pans, and other preparation utensils; polishes silverware; and sanitizes dining rooms, serving areas, kitchens, and other food preparation spaces.

Maintains cleanliness of refrigerators, food carts, toasters, grills, coffee pots, and other equipment.

Sanitizes countertops and dining furniture.

Scrapes dishes and silverware, operates dishwashing machines, and stocks clean items.

Cleans floors, walls, and ceilings, including dusting, mopping, sweeping, stripping, and waxing.

Performs related tasks as necessary.

Communication:
Participates in Dietary Department meetings as needed.

Informs the Supervisor on duty about any issues with colleagues, following the appropriate chain of command if issues remain unresolved.

When interacting with residents, all staff are expected to engage respectfully.

General Duties:
Uphold ethical standards to ensure confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations as trained.
