How You Will Achieve Success:
The Kubernetes Engineering team is responsible for architecting, deploying, and managing the firm's Kubernetes clusters on a global scale. This role places you at the forefront of delivering a top-tier Kubernetes platform for container runtime solutions. The transition to container technology is central to the firm's technological strategy, and the Kubernetes Engineering function within Unix Engineering plays a pivotal role in providing both on-premise and cloud-based container runtime solutions.
As a Senior Kubernetes/CNCF Engineer, you will be tasked with enhancing the ecosystem that supports CNCF solutions, promoting developer efficiency and infrastructure reliability. Your responsibilities will include engineering and implementing components within the Kubernetes infrastructure, as well as integrating with both on-premise and public cloud services. The team will also collaborate with application teams to design solutions that meet specific requirements and assist with architectural and design decisions.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux and container technologies.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in implementing, architecting, and operating Kubernetes environments in both on-premises and public cloud settings.
- 5+ years of experience in configuring, managing, and upgrading Kubernetes platforms.
- Proficiency in the Go programming language is mandatory.
- Familiarity with OpenShift, Ceph, or ArgoCD is advantageous.
- Experience with enterprise risk requirements and their implementation, with knowledge of AWS/GCP configuration formats and Terraform being a plus.
- Experience with CI/CD development environments/tools such as Git, GitLab, or GitHub.
- Demonstrated ability to set and achieve project goals while integrating complex technological concepts.
- Extensive experience with scripting languages.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with GCP and AWS Kubernetes Services is preferred, with knowledge of OCI and Azure being an additional advantage.
