Job Summary

As an Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) with our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department setting. You will work collaboratively with our physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive medical services to patients of all ages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine patients and perform comprehensive physical examinations
  • Compile patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination
  • Administer or order diagnostic tests, such as CT scans, x-rays, and laboratory tests, and interpret results for deviations from normal
  • Perform therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing, and wound care
  • Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and assist in provision of continuity of care
  • Prescribe, administer, and dispense medications, controlled substances, and medical devices
  • Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens
  • Create and maintain accurate patient records
  • Communicate effectively with patients, family members, coworkers, and other medical professionals
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited physician assistant or nursing practitioner program
  • Current licensure with the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice or Minnesota Board of Nursing
  • Current ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certification
  • For experienced APCs: Fellowship training and/or 2+ years of experience working as an APC in a tertiary, high-volume hospital emergency department
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple clinical tasks
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • High level of professionalism, responsibility, and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements
