Job Summary:

As a Senior Accountant at CUES, you will play a critical role in providing accounting and analytical support for the Finance Department. Under the direction of the Controller, you will apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports. Your responsibilities will include Sarbanes Oxley compliance, internal and external audit support, and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial close procedures.

Key Responsibilities:


  2. Financial Analysis and Reporting:
    • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations.
    • Ensure proper controls of general ledger activity, timely preparation of reconciliations, and resolution of discrepancies.
    • Perform additional financial close procedures, including preparing supplemental financial information.
    • Provide ad hoc financial reports and analysis.





  2. Regulatory Compliance and Audit:
    • Act as Sarbanes Oxley coordinator, ensuring timely and accurate compliance.
    • Assist in both internal and external audits.
    • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.





  2. Asset Management and Accounting:
    • Accountable for capital expenditure tracking and fixed asset accounting.
    • Oversee all aspects of lease accounting ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
    • Responsible for reconciling and balancing transactions with intercompany partners monthly.





  2. Data Management and Tax Compliance:
    • Maintain ERP master data changes (vendor, customer, general ledger, etc.).
    • Prepare appropriate data for federal, state and local quarterly and year-end tax provisions and state sales and use tax returns.





  2. Process Improvement and Documentation:
    • Update and document accounting control procedures and assist with cross-training.
    • Other duties as required.




Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience in public and/or manufacturing accounting.
  • Demonstrates strong understanding of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley / internal controls.
  • Cost accounting principles specific to manufacturing processes.
  • Understands inventory management and controls.
  • Demonstrates bias for action and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and analytic abilities.
  • Excels at managing time, resources, and tasks efficiently.
  • Demonstrates effective written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and data management skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • IFS, OneStream, Sage, and Vertex experience a plus.


Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.

  • Normal office environment.
