Job Overview - Surgical Technician

Reports to: Project Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the efficient functioning of the surgical suite prior to procedures
  • Sanitizes and sterilizes surgical instruments and equipment
  • Prepares tools for the sterilization process
  • Maintains a sterile and organized environment for surgical instruments
  • Manages inventory and orders essential supplies
  • Assists in the preparation of patients for surgical interventions
  • Collaborates with the surgical team and laboratory personnel
  • Conducts cleaning and disinfection of the Operating Room post-procedures
  • Reports any equipment malfunctions for necessary repairs or replacements

Required Qualifications:

  • Certification or diploma in Surgical Technology or Operating Room procedures
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Additional Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Recent experience as a Surgical Technician within the last two years

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods exceeding 8 hours
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Capability to lift and transport items weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screening
