Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Inspection Assistant to join our team at Consor Engineers. As an Assistant Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in inspecting various structures, including highways, bridges, grade separations, and tunnels. Your expertise will be essential in conducting safety inspections, preparing written reports, and assisting in-depth inspections using non-destructive testing methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct safety inspections of assigned bridges and prepare written reports of the conditions of the structures.
- Assist in-depth inspections using non-destructive testing methods, mechanized access equipment, and/or climbing gear.
- Perform post-incident bridge inspections to determine severity of damage and recommend appropriate actions with regard to bridge closures and detours.
Requirements:
- Willingness to complete comprehensive training course based on the FHWA Bridge Inspector's Reference Manual (BIRM).
- Must be physically able to perform inspections in the field with various forms of access.
- Any experience with National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) as a bridge inspection assistant is a plus.
- NDT Certification is a plus.
- Experience with reporting procedures is a plus or report writing experience.
