Position Summary

The HVAC Service Technician is tasked with operating independently or collaboratively within a team to manage the installation, startup, troubleshooting, commissioning, and servicing of commercial HVACR equipment, systems, and units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support existing clients by assessing work orders, planning daily travel routes, investigating issues, conducting tests, and resolving problems.

• Establish service protocols by analyzing system requirements, procuring necessary components and parts, completing installations, and performing acceptance testing.

• Foster customer relationships by addressing complaints, identifying solutions, recommending improved methods and techniques, and suggesting system enhancements.

• Ensure personal equipment remains operational by adhering to operating instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and coordinating repairs.

• Document service and installation activities through the completion of forms, reports, logs, and records.

• Uphold customer confidentiality by safeguarding service information.

• Enhance job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and reviewing professional literature.

• Contribute to the operational and organizational mission by achieving related results as necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the HVAC service industry.
  • Experience working independently in a service vehicle, performing service tasks for an HVAC contractor.
  • Proven experience in the commercial HVACR sector with large building construction startup/project experience.
  • Advanced troubleshooting capabilities and extensive experience with retrofit/component replacements (e.g., large compressors, fan motors, commercial rooftop units, air-cooled chillers).
  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure commercial job-site environments.
  • Proficient in computer use, with strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience with VRF systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of BAS/DDC Controls is desirable.
  • Possession of personal tools is required.
  • Reliability and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment screening, including a criminal background check and drug screening.
