Job Overview

United Talent Staffing is currently looking for a contracted GIS Technician I to support our client in the natural gas sector. This role is essential for individuals with relevant educational and/or professional experience in geographic information systems. The position is on-site and does not offer relocation assistance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize Smallworld and ESRI systems for various projects
  • Conduct research on historical records for organization, management, and digitization
  • Create maps of historical pipeline infrastructures
  • Ensure compliance with affected systems
  • Develop area-specific maps for various stakeholders
  • Identify and specify future construction zones within the GIS
  • Update service line data in the SAP program
  • Revise land-based features in GIS
  • Analyze system records to confirm MAOP (Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure)
  • Provide customer support related to GIS and associated information
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred with a focus in GIS, Geography, or Anthropology
  • Proficient computer skills and experience with various applications
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to solve problems and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Adaptability to changing environments and priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Familiarity with natural gas pipeline systems is advantageous but not mandatory
