Job Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist at LAFCU plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of personnel and training functions. This position is responsible for leading employee relations efforts, providing payroll backup, overseeing leave administration programs, and ensuring compliance with regulations related to personnel, pay, benefits, and payroll administration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the VP of Human Resources to handle employee relations, ensuring fair and impartial application of disciplinary actions in alignment with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Facilitate conflict management and communication training to promote constructive dispute resolution, and may develop programs to celebrate employee achievements.
• Serve as backup to the payroll and benefits specialist, periodically reviewing payroll records for accuracy and compliance, and processing payroll monthly to maintain proficiency.
• Administer employee benefits programs, assist with Open Enrollment, and address employee questions on benefit offerings.
• Manage special projects, including workforce analytics, performance management, employee evaluation data, and compensation reviews.
• Handle requests for employment verification, benefits, and other employment-related information.
• Audit personnel files and employment law postings to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal and state laws.
• Oversee departmental expense payments within the scope of authority.
• Maintain an acceptable attendance record as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of similar or related experience.
• A bachelor's degree, or equivalent certifications recognized in the industry.
• Extensive personal contact, often of a sensitive nature, requiring motivating, influencing, and training others, and fostering strong relationships with external contacts.
• Generalist background in personnel administration, compensation, benefits, payroll, and employee relations.
