POSITION OVERVIEW

West Philadelphia Achievement Charter Elementary School is in search of a Kinesiology Educator to become a vital part of our academic team. This role is dedicated to fostering an educational atmosphere that encourages, promotes, and enhances the understanding of the connection between physical health and exercise. The ideal candidate will inspire students to embrace physical fitness, identify and nurture their athletic abilities, and improve their skills, agility, grace, and coordination both individually and within a team setting. The Kinesiology Educator will coordinate sports and activities in collaboration with fellow staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Instructs students in physical fitness, health education, and various sports, whether individual, dual, or team-based.
  2. Collaborates with other Kinesiology educators to design and execute a comprehensive physical education curriculum.
  3. Establishes and upholds standards of student conduct to ensure a structured and effective learning environment in physical education settings.
  4. Delivers essential safety training and conducts safety inspections on equipment and activity areas to guarantee student safety.
  5. Assesses each student's development in physical competencies, knowledge, and contributions to team sports.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching Physical Education.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and the community.
