Position Overview: Works closely with senior members of the public relations team to implement the goals and strategies defined in the client's public relations plan. This position emphasizes media relations and provides support for client interactions and administrative tasks as necessary. Under the guidance of their supervisor, the Account Executive will oversee 1-2 smaller accounts or projects, including pro-bono initiatives. Candidates should possess experience in financial public relations.
Office Attendance Requirements:
- For candidates based in New Jersey: Must be present in the New Jersey office twice a week. The offices are not operational on Mondays and Fridays. Additionally, attendance in the New York City office is required at least twice a month.

Key Responsibilities:
Media Relations:
- Identifies and secures diverse media placements for clients.
- Establishes and nurtures relationships with various media outlets, including trade publications, broadcast media, and national news.
- Assists in media pitching across the team's accounts.
- Contributes to the development of strategic public relations plans and campaign initiatives.
- Monitors and identifies suitable editorial calendar opportunities for clients.
Administrative Assistance:
- Supports Account Coordinator and interns in reviewing and/or creating media analysis reports and distributing client media mentions.
- Assists the Account Coordinator in maintaining call notes, agendas, project trackers, and client communication updates.
- Provides assistance to internal team members with other clients, business development, and company projects.
Client Engagement:
- Acts as a primary point of contact for clients and internal teams.
- Participates in onboarding new clients, including developing agendas for discovery meetings and calls.
Content Creation:
- Crafts unique story angles and timely pitches to ensure consistent client visibility.
- Writes press releases, award nominations, social media content, and other materials related to clients.
Brand Representation:
- Serves as a representative of the JConnelly brand, consistently embodying and reflecting the company's core values, approach, and high standards of excellence in all client, media, and public interactions.
Additional Duties: Performs other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications: A college degree or equivalent relevant business experience.
Experience & Skills:
- 1-2 years of successful experience in a related industry.
- Experience in financial public relations is essential.
- Proven ability to organize and prioritize tasks, manage details accurately, follow up with minimal supervision, and complete assignments within set deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Proficient in various software applications, including the full Office suite and social media platforms.
- Familiarity with PR-related software such as Cision, Meltwater, Sprout, Hootsuite, etc.
