Filamatic is on the lookout for an experienced Electrical Engineer to collaborate with our dynamic engineering team. This role involves crafting innovative solutions that integrate multi-axis motion control systems, electromechanical systems, and pneumatic technologies for the production of liquid filling machinery tailored for the biotech, diagnostic, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and cannabis sectors.

Our advanced liquid packaging systems encompass a variety of equipment including bottle unscramblers, liquid fillers, capping machines, labeling devices, coding machines, and inspection systems. These machines are engineered to dispense volumes ranging from microliters to gallons at impressive speeds of up to 250 containers per minute.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the engineering team, cross-functional departments, and clients throughout the design process of control systems and machinery tailored to meet specific customer requirements.
  • Generate product concepts, detailed technical drawings, and accurate cost assessments.
  • Work in partnership with assembly and technical teams to identify and resolve issues during the assembly phase of projects.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges while adhering to project timelines.
  • Implement engineering standards for reusable design components and standardized parts.
  • Engage with mechanical engineering, sales, manufacturing, assembly, and technical service teams.
  • Create performance calculations, wiring diagrams, flow charts, sequences of operations, BOMs, and specification documents.
  • Lead design reviews and facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Identify commercially available components for machinery.
  • Produce schematics, panel layouts, and software for machines (PLC, HMI, Motion).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve control-related issues for both new and existing filling and capping machinery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Software, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related field) with a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Proficient in multi-axis motion control systems, electromechanical systems, and pneumatic applications.
  • Strong understanding of the design of complex automated industrial machinery.
  • Familiarity with NEC standards and regulations.
  • Experience with PLC ladder logic, motion control, and servo systems.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD/Draftsight or similar 2D CAD software.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities.
