RCT Systems, Power Systems Division, is seeking an Electrical Engineer with expertise in microcontroller, DSP, and FPGA system integration and development. The ideal candidate will be involved in designing and testing control PCBs, digital control algorithms, and FPGA-based pulse-width-modulators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and test control PCBs for SiC-based power electronic converter topologies
  • Develop digital control algorithms and FPGA-based pulse-width-modulators
  • Integrate FPGAs, A/D converters, and communications protocols into control PCBs
  • Design embedded control algorithms and harmonic compensators
  • Develop Controller-Hardware-in-the-Loop test setups and control algorithms

Requirements:

  • United States Citizenship required due to US Government ITAR program restrictions
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related major with a minimum 3.3 GPA
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience applying embedded software for motor drives, ac-dc, and dc-ac converters
  • Experience programming various microcontrollers, DSPs, and FPGAs
  • Direct work with TI C2000 DSPs and Altera FPGAs
  • Hands-on experience with OPAL-RT, Typhoon, or other HIL platforms

Immediate Requirements/Projects:

  • High Power SiC and Silicon power device design into converters/inverters
  • MV converters at power levels of 50kW to 500kW linked together for higher power levels up in MWs
  • Typhoon and PLECS Controller-Hardware-in-the-loop development of a modular multi-level converter and real-time model implementations
  • Navy (surface & sub), Army vehicles and infrastructure, Aircraft
