We are currently seeking a Lead Cost Consultant to join our team and contribute to a significant commercial real estate manufacturing initiative for a prominent client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validation of General Contractor Estimates: Review and confirm cost forecasts from the general contractor, ensuring accuracy in data sources and calculations.
- Monthly Cost Validation: Assess actual costs against forecasts, ensuring all supporting documentation is in place and identifying variances.
- Forecast Review: Collaborate with project managers to ensure submitted calculations align with project scope and confirm necessary adjustments.
- Change Management: Obtain and validate basis for changes from the general contractor, ensuring rates align with project estimates.
- Cost Analysis: Review submitted costs from the general contractor and trade partners, addressing any discrepancies and maintaining a tracking log of corrections.
- Third-Party Cost Review: Identify and validate costs arising from third-party providers, ensuring proper documentation is maintained.
This role requires a minimum of 6 years of experience in construction cost management, with a focus on large-scale projects. A degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field is essential. While RICS accreditation is beneficial, it is not mandatory.
Our ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of construction industry practices, including procurement routes and value engineering. Experience in the US market is highly desirable.
