Job Title: Adjunct Faculty Position

We are seeking an experienced and qualified individual to join our team as an Adjunct Faculty member in the School of Optometry at MCPHS University.

Job Summary:

The selected candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality learning experiences and education to students in The Eye and Vision Center. The successful candidate will have a strong background in low vision and vision rehabilitation, and will be able to provide precepting and teaching services to optometry students.

Responsibilities:
  • Precept 3rd and 4th-year optometry students in The Eye and Vision Center low vision/vision rehabilitation service
  • Teach 3rd and 4th-year optometry students effective, evidence-based methods of patient care based on the MCPHS School of Optometry clinical curriculum
  • Teach 3rd and 4th-year students evidence-based methods to treat and manage patients with low vision
  • Objectively grade optometry students based on their clinical knowledge, skills, and patient management
Requirements:
  • Must have an O.D. degree from an ACOE accredited school or college of optometry
  • Must have a Massachusetts optometry license
  • Must have a Massachusetts controlled substance license
  • Minimum of five years' work experience in low vision/vision rehabilitation if the applicant is not residency trained
  • Residency training is desired
  • Commitment to professional optometric education and student success
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Have experience providing primary care and low vision/vision rehabilitation treatment and management
