Job Title: Director of Facilities

Williams College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Facilities to lead our facilities management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operational, functional, and administrative aspects of the Facilities department, including policy development, personnel management, budgeting, and capital project management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Facilities team, ensuring effective management of facilities, grounds, and infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards for facilities management, maintenance, and operations.
  • Manage the department's budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and effective allocation of funds.
  • Oversee capital project planning, design, and construction, ensuring compliance with college policies and regulations.
  • Collaborate with campus stakeholders to develop and implement sustainable practices and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with contractors, vendors, and other external partners.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as facilities management, engineering, or architecture.
  • At least 8 years of experience in facilities management, with a minimum of 3 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successful project management, budgeting, and personnel management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in a related field.
  • Experience working in a higher education or complex organization.
  • Certifications in facilities management, such as CFM or LEED AP.
