Position Overview

The Accountant role at Desert Diamond Casinos & Entertainment involves performing essential accounting functions under the guidance of the Finance Supervisor. This position is critical in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the preparation of financial statements and audits.

Key Responsibilities

1. **Financial Monitoring**: Oversee revenue and expenditures, ensuring adherence to reporting standards and accounting practices.
2. **Data Management**: Develop and review spreadsheet applications, prepare financial data for accounting systems, and generate necessary reports.
3. **Record Keeping**: Analyze, reconcile, and maintain accounting records, assisting in budget development and financial reporting.
4. **Account Reconciliation**: Prepare and process budget, revenue, and expense entries, including payroll and various reconciliations.
5. **Billing Oversight**: Monitor billing processes for guests and corporate clients, ensuring accurate invoicing for services rendered.
6. **Audit Support**: Assist with audits by preparing necessary documentation and ensuring confidentiality of financial records.

Qualifications

**Education and Experience**: A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance with 3-5 years of experience in general ledger accounting is preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.

**Skills and Knowledge**:
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards.
- Familiarity with billing and collection processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills in English.

Work Environment

This position is primarily office-based, with some exposure to a casino environment. Flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required.
