Job Overview

Tradeco Construction of Arkansas is seeking a skilled Solar Pile Driver to join our team. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a solar pile driver to install piles for residential and commercial scale solar projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a truck/trailer and solar pile driver to install piles for solar projects.
  • Assess site suitability for pile driving by examining soil conditions and determining site grade.
  • Use measuring and reference tools to install driven piles to required specifications and tolerances.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and installation instructions.
  • Understand how shading and other mechanical/electrical obstacles impact solar array installation and performance.
  • Collaborate with the Mechanical Foreman and Project Foreman to ensure installation meets all stakeholders' expectations.
  • Perform general housekeeping of the work area to maintain a clean and safe jobsite.
  • Review work progress to ensure adherence to code and specifications.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Identify and troubleshoot problems that arise during pile installations.
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One to two years of experience operating a pile-driver or similar heavy machinery.
  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and an insurable driving record.
  • Successful completion of a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
  • A Commercial Driver's license (CDL) and Department of Transportation (DOT) certification are preferred.
  • Knowledge of pile driving operations and solar panel system installation techniques.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, lifting techniques, and safe worksite practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor in outdoor environments.
  • A project focus and the ability to complete tasks timely.
  • Dependability, adaptability, detail-oriented, independent and innovative thinking.
  • Problem-solving and solution-based mindset.
  • Ability to work in a production environment where daily production goals are set, evaluated, and optimized.
  • Ability to maintain adherence to safety protocols, including use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • The ability to manage multiple projects of competing priorities and pivot work schedules to meet high priority deadlines.
