Food and Beverage Supervisor Job Description

At ASM Global, we are seeking a highly skilled Food and Beverage Supervisor to join our team at the Shreveport Convention Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food and beverage services, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and Train Staff: Supervise and train all food and beverage staff, including servers, bartenders, and concessions personnel, to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
  • Manage Inventory and Budget: Assist in maintaining budgeted goals and understand the needs of the department to make informed decisions, manage inventory, order products, and maintain proper par levels to ensure efficient operations.
  • Maintain Equipment and Cleanliness: Maintain equipment through proper cleaning and scheduled maintenance to ensure a safe and clean environment.
  • Cash Handling and Record Keeping: Ensure cash handling procedures are followed and maintain accurate records.
  • Event Services: Fulfill service requirements for each banquet event, ensuring exceptional customer experiences.
  • Inventory Control and Design: Maintain inventory control procedures and implement creative designs for food service areas, concession signage, and displays.
  • Quality and Service: Ensure attention to detail and consistency in every area, maintaining a high level of quality and service.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Supervise Hourly Staff: Supervise all hourly food and beverage staff employees.
  • Train and Develop Staff: Train and develop all concessions, bartending, and banquet staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
Working Conditions:
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to work long and irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with flexibility to adapt to changing schedules.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods, with the ability to move and lift up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications:
  • Experience and Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years' experience in food and beverage management, with a proven track record of exceeding customer service and quality standards. Catering management experience is required, with experience in a multi-purpose entertainment facility preferred.
  • Customer Service and Communication: Strong customer service orientation, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office, with experience with ADP preferred. Excel and Word skills required.
