Software Safety Engineer Opportunity at Northrop Grumman

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Safety Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our software systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply knowledge of safety engineering principles and methodologies to identify and mitigate hazards in software systems.
  • Review and analyze software systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement safety requirements and designs to control or eliminate hazards.
  • Collaborate with design teams to execute hazard analyses and ensure safety requirements are met.
  • Apply engineering principles to investigate, analyze, and plan for the safety of software systems.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of experience or Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 3 years of experience.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance or higher with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
  • Strong working knowledge of Military systems safety and process standards, such as MIL-STD-882, DO-178B/C, and DO-254.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS in Software Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Familiarity with requirements tools such as DOORS, Cameo, and CPLM.
  • Experience in Agile software development and hardware/software integration.

We offer a competitive salary range of $92,600 - $139,000 and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, life and disability insurance, and a savings plan.
